![]() ![]() This is only in vs mode though, the 1P mode actually just shows the original 8 characters, if you're using a fresh save file. Mario, Falco, Young Link, Ganondorf and Dark Samus, along with room for 7 additional characters. All your favorites are here, with newcomers Dr. The first thing most will notice is the significantly expanded character select screen. Here at Micro-64 though, we like to keep things more relaxed. The N64 Vault page for Smash Remix is very detailed and covers nearly everything, sort of like a program changelog. Since 2019, Smash Remix has introduced greatly expanded character and stage select screens, along with extra features and settings for casual and competitive play. The project started out as just individual work on new characters and stages, with some test builds directly replacing an original SSB64 character or stage with a new one. Smash Remix is a community project to bring new characters and stages to Super Smash Bros. Then, in 2019, something wonderful happened. More recently, there was actually a Kickstarter campaign to add new characters to N64 classic, only for it to end up as a hoax, like some efforts before it. There were early attempts to hack SSB64, most leading to nowhere. Melee slowly gaining mods like 20XX after over a decade of purist devotion from the competitive scene. Brawl has had an active modding scene for well over 10 years at this point, with Super Smash Bros. (N64) in particular persisted as a difficult game to hack, partly due to a lack of community interest in dissecting the game. ![]() Slowly, more games would see mods and romhacks, such as F-Zero X and Banjo Kazooie. Super Mario 64 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were two of the earliest games to receive modifications, often only functional in emulators. N64 rom hacking has, for many years in the past, been a dream of many retro enthusiasts with a programming background. This game is still under development and may see new changes and features in the future. Consider this more a holiday fun pack rather than some sort of serious texture pack with a lot of work put into it.NOTE: This feature concerns Smash Remix version 0.9.1. There are some other minor things done by me but I mostly did the audio. ![]() Some other bits in here include star wars laser sound effects for fox and Falco’s laser (There was a star wars Christmas special after all). Christmas Peach was not made by me but finding that old skin was hard enough so I don’t know who made it. Mooshies’s Dreamland, Multishine’s PKMN stadium, and Tri’s Santa Link. The stages and all 3 Christmas skins (yeah only 3) are taken from other people’s old texture hacks, like Minerali’s Christmas Ganon, ExtraVirgin69’s FD, Battlefield, and Yoshi’s. Here is a link to an xdelta patcher if you don’t already have one. You will also need an xdelta patcher (just like Uncle’s punches training mode mod). In order to see most of the extra stuff added to 20XX you will need the included save files for nintendont and dolphin, otherwise you would have to set up the songs and textures manually in the debug menu (see included Readme). Figured I would release though since it is the holiday season. ![]() This hack was something simple I made over a year ago and was mostly a side project to my other hack packs I was working on. It also comes with UCF via some Uncle punch training codes don’t worry. This hack pack is based on 20XX 4.07++ and thus will turn your vanilla melee iso into 20XX 4.07++. Well with this texture/music hack you can. Ever wanted to play Melee but with Christmas music and stages? And by Christmas music I mean Eurobeat Christmas music? (Yes that is real). ![]()
